Identity
  framework
Bristol Legible City is created for a large number of people and groups and
needs to be adaptable for future projects. To achieve one identity, that could
be used by all, a concept was adopted based around an identity framework or
visual language. This consists of a number of key elements: A typeface, colours,
icons and pictograms, a mapping system, and product design.

Fundamental to this approach is the avoidance of a logo to represent the initiative
, logos are more commonly known as a representation of one organisation or company.
The concept of the colour ‘blue’ is used by Bristol Legible City
to tie together more varied parts of the initiative, such as the art projects
  and street improvements.

The visual language has successfully been used throughout all the projects:
from sign systems, communications, publications, and art projects. The design
of this web site is another example of the visual language put into practice.
  The results are evident.
